Cammonstone Bloodhounds were founded with the first litter from Ch. Tarakun Trinket, at two & a half years of age in March 1972.  The sire of this litter was Ch. Abingerwood Lewdack Lincoln, giving the ‘B’ litter of seven pups, from which two bitches produced litters.
In 1976, Budget provided the second Cammonstone litter, and
Bracelet provided two litters for the Poorlands kennel in 1976 and 1978.

Meanwhile another bitch was acquired, Barnspark Softly, from dual purpose stock; having Ch. Barnspark Dilemma and Ch. Abingerwood Boadicea in her pedigree.  She subsequently produced Ch. Cammonstone Sonnet broadening the show / trials base of Cammonstone bloodlines.

To 1999, there have been eight Cammonstone litters, with the greatest contribution to the breed in recent years coming from stud dogs.  Cammonstone Dastur was the sole progenitor from the ‘D’ litter, siring two litters.   Alas the second, to Cammonstone Sceptre, produced only one dog, Eclipse, from which no line continued.  Sceptre's only brother, Sonorous, made up for this by siring six litters.

Ch. Cammonstone Sonorous's line was retained through a dark black and tan bitch, Kingsberry's ‘Harmony’, which had risen through the trials stakes rapidly.  From Barilla Geraint, Harmony produced Crease's Ch. Brumbies Damask.

The link back to Cammonstone Sceptre was re-established, using Cammonstone Fairlie, Sceptre's son, which produced the highly successful ‘G’ litter.  Two hounds from this litter were kept by Jane; Generous & Gravity.  Although neither of these hounds were bred from, there remains the possibility of the Cammonstone line reincorporating blood from the Netherlands export, Garnish, in the future.

The major influence of the Cammonstone line relies on the projeny from Ch. Cammonstone Grimston.

The ‘G’-litter represents the eighth generation in a direct line of KC working trial stakes winners.
