The Bloodhound Club Autumn Open Show

- This was held on Sunday 8th November at Baginton.
- The show was judged by Mark Cocozza.

- The bitches came out on top with:
- Best in Show was Gillian Lamb's Kingwater Mrs Hippichik of Scentall,
- Res BiS: Powell's Trailfinder High Flyer.
- Best Dog: Lamb & Crease's Cammonstone Jupiter,
- Res Dog: Borrowmans Trailfinder Gulliver and
- Best Puppy Mrs P Walls' Trailfinder Kind Hearted.

- The Bloodhound Club Championship Show was held on Saturday 6th June.
- at Baginton, with Ken Miller judging.
- Sam Sutcliffe's Marksbury Illogical of Farlap, repeated last year's success,
- by again being awarded Best in Show!
- Congratulations also to Sam on the Dog CC with Farlap Basnicky.

- The Bitch Reserve CC was awarded to Cartwright's Railside Molly at Longmynd
- The Dog Reserve CC was awarded to
- Sherlock Capers, jointly owned by Shirley Porter & Mary Fish.

Because of the weather forecast, following a week of snowy weather, this day of events was postponed,

and re-scheduled for Sunday 5th April, about 10 miles from the original venue,

at The Grange Hall, Southam, Nr Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV47 1QA.
- The Spring Open Show was judged by Paul Letheren.

- Best Dog & Best in Show was awarded to Mr & Mrs Broomes Trailfinder Judge.
- Reserve Best in Show, Reserve Best Dog & Best Puppy was awarded to
- Sherlock Capers, jointly owned by Shirley Porter & Mary Fish.
- Best Bitch went to Helen & David Powell's Trailfinder Hopscotch
- with Res Best Bitch to Shane O'Keefe's Trailfinder Guardian Angel at Darleycliffe.

- Ten championship shows offer champion certificates (CC) for Bloodhounds.
- Entries for multiple breed championship shows generally close two months before shows,
- but schedules and entry forms for these are sometimes available as PDF downloads from
- the Higham Press site, eg. The last show at which Bloodhounds can qualify for Crufts
- is LKA at the NEC, in early December.
- The first show each year with CCs for Bloodhounds is at the Manchester Dog Show Society's
- Championship Show, held at Staffordshire County Showground {streetmap.co.uk}.
- A few other shows are held here.
- At the Welsh Kennel Club Show, Tony Higgingbottom will be judging bloodhounds on Friday 21st August.
- at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.

- At the Bloodhound Club Open Show Autumn 2008, judge Dagmar Kenis-Pordham
- awarded Best in Show to Mrs J. Dymott's Trailfinder Journalist
- and Reserve Best in Show to Mr & Mrs O'Keefe's Trailfinder Guardian Angel at Darleycliffe


- It is hoped that Dagmar's report, with more photos will be included
- in the Christmas edition of the Newsletter sent by royal mail to members.

- The Bloodhound Club Championship Show 2008
- was judged by Bob Hutchinson (Herdus) on Sunday 8th June.
- His Best in Show was Best Bitch: Sam Sutcliffe's Marksbury Illogical of Farlap
- Reserve Best in Show was Linda Van Der Sichels' bitch Multi Ch Charlotte Truffe Medievale, who came over from Belgium.


- Bob's report was published in the Club Newsletter June 2008.
- At Crufts 2008, Bloodhounds were judged by Leonarda Podgodzinki on Sunday 9th March.

- Her best of breed was Gore's Sagio Emilia at Silverspring (Imp, Swe).
- The Dog CC was awarded to Sayles' WTCh. Cilgwri Uncanny Keano.
- Reserve CCs went to Emrys-Jones' Ch. Marksbury Wistful,
- and Avery & Miller's Ch. Chami Truffe Medievale
- Best Puppy was Lamb's Kingswater Mrs Hippichik of Scentall, with other results available at the Crufts Pages of Fosse Data Systems Ltd.

Directions
Baginton is South of the ring road skirting the South
of Coventry, Warwickshire, and is reached from all directions
using the A46. From the A46 follow signs to Coventry
Airport.

The Village Hall, has been the venue of Bloodhound Shows
since 1995. It is hidden behind the village green,
parking for about twenty cars.
Refreshment, meals and overnight accommodation can be found nearby
at The Old Mill, Baginton |  |
Langford is South of Biggleswade. Coming from the South, the quickest route is
up the A1, turning left at the water tower. [ for the next show this junction will
be available from the North.]
Keep left at the first mini-roundabout, then right at 'The Boot'.
There are two more
pubs to pass Northwards through Langford; 'The Red Cow' and 'The Wrestlers'.
Then between the road restrictions, turn left after the Cricket pitch.
