2010

The Club's first event for 2010, its Golden Jubilee year,
was the Millvery Trophy Stake, held on 24th January.
The Millvery Trophy
Winners of the previous year's Senior Stakes are invited, to hunt an eight-hours cold line.
This was held on 24th January at Loseley Park, near Guildford, Surrey.
The Stake was scheduled to be judged by Keith Long, but he was called away urgently. 
Hence, the "Assistant was promoted", and the Stake was judged by Barry Alan.
The Top Working hound of 2009, started 2010 well by being awarded,
the Millvery Trophy for the second year running:
Robertson's WTCh. Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis (Bouquet).

The Bloodhound Club Championship Trials for Spring 2010

Remains of the Knight's Templar Tour at Temple Bruer.
 
The Club's Trials for Spring 2010 was being held
from 15th February at Temple Bruer, Lincolnshire.
 
 
This is the home of The Cranwell Bloodhounds.
Some competitors were able to watch the pack hunt on Valentine Day,
the Sunday before the trials [some photos here].
 
International Equestrian Photographer, Julia Shearwood, was there.
Julia walked lines, and donated some photographs
of our hounds here.
 
The Novice Stake was judged by Robert Johnson-Ferguson, who awarded
First Prize and Identification Cup to David Gore's Cammonstone Juno

Second Prize: Harrison's Aspencade Diana  
Third Prize: Page's Farcry Honourable Lord
CoM: N. Sutcliffe's Cammonstone Jubilant Sanft
Outstanding Performance: Borrowman's Rache Marchioness,
    with Handler's Spoon to Tish Borrowman. 
 
The Junior Stake was judged by Jan Grit from the Netherlands.
There were no awards except the Identification Cup to Fiona McKenzie's Sherlock Merlot of Moorlander

Also for the Intermediate Stake, the judge Trevor Stevens, was unable to make any awards
except the Identification Cup to Matthew Price with Brighton's Ceremony.
 
Although the Senior Stake started with fog, scent was better, and the judge
Jane Crease was able to award three prizes:
First, with Identification Cup and KCWTC to
Sayles' Trailfinder Brave Trooper
Trooper finished the line well ahead of Ian!
(This is Trooper's second KCWTC, which subject to KC approval makes him Working Trials Champion!)
 
Second: Sayles' Cilgwri Uncanny Keano
Third, with Biggles Trophy for a Valiant Effort again went to
Page's Taliesins Nashville.
 
 (The voice trophies were with-held in all stakes).

2009

Kelperland Trophy Stake 2009

 
The last Bloodhound Club event of 2009 was the Kelperland Trophy Stake
held on Sunday 29th November, at Sutton Scotney, Hampshire.
The judge, Christine Green awarded the Kelperland Trophy to
Robertson's WTCh. Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis (Bouquet).

Bouquet had also won the ABB Brough Cup Stake, but the Bracken Cup
the ABB's 12-hour cold stake, was not awarded the following weekend.

Voice and other prizes with-held.
 
Intermediate on Wednesday 21st October 2009, judged by Mr Bas Woods
The only awards were to Harrington's Cammonstone Justice, with a
Certificate of Merit and the Kevin Milligan Memorial Cup for best identification.
 
Senior on Thursday 22nd October, judged by Mrs Jo Franks
Jo was unable to award 1st, 2nd & 3rd, or voice trophy, but awarded a CoM to
Robertson's WTCh. Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis, again handled by Alan Taylor.
The Marksbury Porringer trophy for best identification went to
Wheeler's Marksbury Laconic of Farcry, and the
Biggles Trophy for a valiant effort went to
Page's Taliesins Nashville.
